We proudly value bilingualism and understand the importance of supporting a child’s home language(s). Services are offered in English and Spanish, ensuring language differences never become a barrier to communication development. Therapy is thoughtfully tailored to each family’s linguistic and cultural needs, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for bilingual children. Additional therapists also provide services in English and Urdu.

Yamiris Diaz
MS, CCC-SLP
Yamiris Diaz is the founder of Matter of Speech and a licensed speech-language pathologist with a passion for early intervention and parent education. She earned her bachelor’s in health sciences in 2009 and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Florida International University in 2012. With extensive experience in private clinics, home health, schools, and outpatient hospital rehab centers, Yamiris is dedicated to helping young children find their voice. She specializes in teaching parents to support their children during therapy, cherishing moments when families share milestones, such as hearing their child say a new word for the first time. Yamiris is bilingual in English and Spanish and is trained in PROMPT, Hanen- It Takes Two to Talk, and AAC.
Fiaza Ahmed
MS, CCC-SLP
Fiaza Ahmed is a neurodiversity affirming licensed Speech Language Pathologist who emphasizes a holistic approach in her assessments and treatments. She also deeply values collaborations with parents and other professionals to support every child’s communication needs. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2017 from Florida International University with a focus on Human Development and her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida International University in 2021. Fiaza is bilingual in English and Urdu. She has completed several advanced continuing education courses in order to enhance her skills, particularly in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and early intervention. Fiaza is dedicated to providing therapy services to assist families empathetically and professionally.
